If you’ve got a 4WD and a couple of hours to spare while staying at Mobys, a quick drive through Wallingat National Park up to Whoota Whoota Lookout is well worth doing.
It’s an easy trip and a good way to see a different side of the area — quiet bushland, gravel trails, and a great view at the top.

Getting There
The drive starts about 15–20 minutes from Mobys. Head south through Bungwahl and turn onto Sugar Creek Road. From there, you’ll hit gravel roads winding through the national park. The road is in decent condition, though a few patches can be rough, especially after rain. A 4WD is recommended.
The drive through the forest doesn’t take long — about 20 minutes once you’re off the main road.

Quick Tips
- Best with a 4WD – the gravel roads can be slippery or uneven in places.
- No fuel or shops along the way, so grab anything you need before leaving Blueys.
- You’ll need a valid NSW National Parks vehicle pass.
If you’re keen to explore a bit more, there are other tracks and picnic areas within Wallingat National Park, but even just the lookout makes for a great short outing.
